Young teenage boy drowns in Liffey accident
It is believed that the boy entered the Liffey before getting into difficulty.
THE BODY OF a teenager has been recovered from the River Liffey this afternoon.
The body of the young boy – aged in his early teens – was recovered from the Liffey near Conyngham Road at Islandbridge, west of Dublin city centre.
It is believed that the boy got into difficulty after entering the water. It is not known how he entered the water.
Gardaí responded to the incident and the boy’s body was taken from the river at about 4pm.
Gardaí are treating the death as a tragic accident.
